“Kody...” I groaned in awe, totally in shock. “I can’t believe you went to all this trouble for me!” Grabbing his wrist, I pulled him to his feet, then launched myself into his arms. “Yes, of course I’ll marry you! How was that ever even a question?”

The exhale of relief that gusted out of Kody confused the hell out of me. Had he really thought I was going to say no? Fuck that, I would marry him right here and now if he wanted.

The desperate way he kissed me, though, told me he’d been worried. Silly penguin should know better than that. As far as I was concerned, we were already together till we died.

Then a thought crossed my mind, and I gasped as I pulled away.

“Is this why Archer is in such a mood today?”

Kody grinned. “Yeah. He’s a jealous little bitch who liked being the only one you were legally married to.”

I groaned and rolled my eyes. “Typical fucking Sunshine.” I bit my lower lip and looked around us once more. Lights twinkled in the trees all around the waterfall and reflected gorgeously off the water of the pool below our bridge. “You did this all for me?”

Kody looped his arms around my waist as I turned to take it all in, hugging me from behind as I leaned on the bridge railing. “Of course. I thought... maybe, if it’s okay with you, we could have the ceremony while we’re here in Japan.”

Surprise rippled through me, and I turned around to face him. “This week?”

His brow creased with uncertainty. “Too soon?”

I grinned. “Not soon enough!”

His answering smile lit up his whole face, then he was kissing me until I forgot where my lips ended and his began. Fuck it, who cared? I’d happily never separate from him for the rest of my life. Getting married would just be a formality, but it was clearly important to him. So it was important to me.
